The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC) rationale documents have been developed to assist data users by providing contextual information on the scales and items included in the LSAC datasets.
The Wave 1–6 integrated rationale document, presents background information on scales introduced to LSAC in waves 1–6, while the Wave 7 rationale report presents this information for scales introduced in Wave 7.
Some of the material included or referred to in the rationale documents is subject to copyright. Copyright information will progressively be added to the rationale documents. For more information about copyright permissions, contact the LSAC team.

Workshops are run by AIFS to assist data users, those considering becoming users, or those who are interested in learning more about LSAC data, to gain confidence in understanding and navigating the datasets.
